Dak Prescott is currently the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, “America’s Team”. Before all that he was just a little boy with two brothers, raised by a single mother in Louisiana. He was raised in Haughton Louisiana to be exact and was a standout quarterback at Haughton High school. Dak got recruited by many college programs. He was offered by MSU, Arkansas, Louisiana –Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, LSU, McNeese State, Memphis, North Texas, Northwestern State, and TCU. He was ranked a three-star dual-threat quarterback by Rivals.com in 2010. In the end, he choose to attend Mississippi State University. His single mother who raised him and who Dak says is the one who pushed him as a person and football player wanted him to go to LSU. Coach Dan Mullen, the head coach of Mississippi State, said on the recruiting visit she was very demanding. She said Dak better be disciplined and better be going to class. Well the season before his redshirt freshman year he got a devastating phone call that would change his life forever his mother had stage four colon cancer. Dak was devastated he said he knew that there wasn’t a likely chance that she would live knowing that stage four cancer is very life threatening. Dak was a backup quarterback at the time and promised himself to make an impacted when it was his time to play.
